Green Chicken Korma | Easy Chicken Korma Recipe
It is an easy and creamy dish prepared with marinated chicken and blended mix. Korma or qorma is a dish originating in South Asia consisting of meat or vegetables braised with yogurt (dahi), water or stock, and spices to produce a thick sauce or gravy. It goes well with bhatura, pita bread etc.
Green Chicken Korma
Ingredients
- Chicken - 1 kg
- Cardamom - 2
- Cumin Seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Clove - 2
- Cinnamon - small piece
- Oil - 4 tbsp
- Salt
- Cream - 2 tbsp
- Kasurimethi - 1 tsp
- Lemon Juice - 2 tbsp
- Ghee - 1 tbsp
FOR BLEND:-
- Onion - 2 (medium, chopped)
- Tomato - 1
- Green Chilli - 4
- Garlic - 5 cloves
- Ginger - small piece
- Mint Leaves - 1/4 cup
- Coriander Leaves - 1 cup
- Cashew Nuts / Almonds - 8 to 10
- Lemon Juice - 1 tbsp
- Curd - 2 tbsp
FOR MARINATION:-
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
- Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
- Fennel Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Curd - 2 tbsp
- Lemon Juice - 1/4 cup
- Salt - as needed
Instructions
- Marinate chicken pieces with the ingredients mentioned under "For Marination" and keep for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Blend the ingredients mentioned under "For Blend" to a fine paste. Add little water and blend well.
- Heat oil and ghee, splutter whole spices, add blend paste and saute well till raw smell fades and color begins to change. Add marinated chicken pieces and mix well.
- Check salt, cover and cook for 15 to 20 minutes or till the chicken is cooked thoroughly.
- Once gravy begins to thicken, add cream, kasurimethi and cook for 1 minute. Once the gravy begins to warm, switch off the flame. Keep for 15 minutes before serving.
