Beef Steak with Mashed Potatoes Recipe | Steak and Mashed Potatoes Sauce | Steak with Mashed Potatoes and Vegetables

Steak is a flat cut of beef usually grilled, pan fried or boiled. It is served with creamy sauce and mashed potatoes. The more tender cuts from the loin and rib are cooked quickly, using dry heat, and served whole. Less tender cuts from the chuck or round are cooked with moist heat or are mechanically tenderized.

Ingredients

  • Beef Steak - 3 pcs

FOR MARINATION:-

  • Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
  • Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
  • Chilli Flakes - 1 tsp
  • Lemon Juice - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - as needed
  • Oil - 1 tbsp

TO COOK STEAK:-

  • Butter - 3 tbsp
  • Garlic - 2 pods (chopped)
  • Onion - 2 tbsp (chopped opt)
  • Dry Thyme - 1 tbsp
  • Dry Rosemary - 1 tbsp
  • Dry Parsley - 1 tbsp
  • Oregano - 1 tsp

FOR MASHED POTATO:-

  • Butter - 3 tbsp
  • Potatoes - 1 cup (boiled & mashed)
  • Milk - 1/2 cup
  • Salt - as needed

FOR RICE:-

  • Basmati Rice - 2 cup (boiled)
  • Salt - as needed
  • Butter - 2 tbsp
  • Chilli Flakes - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander Leaves - 2 tbsp

FOR VEGGIES:-

  • Carrot - 1 cup (julienne)
  • Beans - 1 cup (julienne)
  • Cauliflower - 1 cup (cut into florets)
  • Butter - 3 tbsp
  • Pepper Powder - 2 tsp
  • Chilli Flakes - 1 tsp
  • Salt - as needed

FOR SAUCE:-

  • Onion - 2 tbsp
  • Garlic - 1 tbsp
  • Chilli Flakes - 1 tsp
  • Soya Sauce - 1 tbsp
  • Pepper Powder - 1 tbsp
  • Chicken Stock - 1 cup
  • Fresh Cream - 1/2 cup
  • Corn Flour Slurry - 4 tbsp
  • Oregano - 1 tsp
  • Butter - 3 tbsp
  • Salt - as needed

Instructions

  1. Marinate the steak with the ingredients mentioned under For Marination and keep for 1 hour.
  2. Melt butter, add the mashed potatoes, mix well. Add salt, milk and cook till you get a thick consistency. Mashed Potato is ready.
  3. In the same pan, melt butter, add chilli flakes, salt and saute for a minute. Add coriander leaves and mix well for 30 secs. Add cooked rice and mix till combined. Rice is ready.
  4. Melt butter in a wok, add the vegetables, mix well. Then add salt, pepper powder and chilli flakes. Toss and cook for 2 mins. veggies are ready.
  5. Melt butter, add onion and garlic, saute for one min. Add the dry seasoning mix and mix well. Cook beef steak on both sides until done.
  6. Melt butter, saute onion and garlic for 2 mins. Add chilli flakes, pepper powder, salt and mix till raw smell fades. Pour chicken stock, soya sauce, cream and mix till combined.
  7. Next add corn flour slurry, 1 tbsp at a time and oregano. Continue cooking till a thick saucy consistency is obtained and the sauce is ready.
