Chole Bhatura | Chole Bhature Recipe | Punjabi Bhature | How to make Bhature?

Bhatura is a soft dough prepared with all purpose flour and semolina. The dough is prepared with minimal ingredients and deep fried in oil. The puffed up bhaturas are well to eat with non veg or veg gravies.

Ingredients

  • All Purpose Flour - 3 cups
  • Semolina - 3 tbsp
  • Curd - 1/2 cup
  • Sugar - 1 tbsp
  • Ghee - 1 tbsp
  • Baking Powder - 1 tsp
  • Baking Soda - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - as needed

Instructions

  1. Mix flour and semolina together. Add sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and mix well.
  2. Add curd and mix till it is incorporated to the flour. Add water gradually and knead to a soft dough. Add ghee and knead further. Rub some more ghee on top, cover and keep aside for 4 hours.
  3. After 4 hours, knead the dough again and divide the dough in to small equal balls.
  4. Dip the ball in the flour and roll it flat using a rolling pin on a counter top.
  5. Heat oil on medium flame, and carefully slide the bhatura to the oil from a side of the pan. Reduce to low flame and deep fry the bhatura on both side until it puffs up.
