Papri Chaat Recipe | How to make Dahi Papdi Chaat? | How to make Papdi?
It is a savoury snack that originated in India, typically served at road side tracks from stalls or food carts. The chaat variants are all based on fried dough with various ingredients. The common ingredients include dahi, chopped onion, chopped coriander leaves, sev, chaat masala and cumin powder. The ingredients are combined and served on a small metal plate.

Ingredients
- Papdis
- Tamarind Chutney
- Green Chutney
- Red Chilli Powder
- Chaat Masala Powder
- Cumin Powder
- Curd (whisked)
- Coriander Leaves
- Sev
- Onion - 1 (chopped)
- Boiled Potato - 1 (chopped)
FOR PAPDI:-
- All Purpose Flour - 1 cup
- Salt
- Ajwain - 1 tsp
- Oil - 4 tbsp
- Water
FOR TAMARIND CHUTNEY:-
- Tamarind - 1 cup
- Jaggery - 2 cup
- Red Chilli Powder - 1 tbsp
- Cumin Powder - 1/2 tbsp
- Dry Ginger Powder - 1/2 tbsp
- Salt
- Water
FOR GREEN CHUTNEY:-
- Mint Leaves - 1/2 cup
- Coriander Leaves - 1 cup
- Green Chilli - 1
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
- Salt
- Water - 3 tbsp
Instructions
- Let's prepare Tamarind Chutney. Heat water in a sauce pan, add the ingredients mentioned under "For Tamarind Chutney" and cook until chutney thickens and reduces to 1/4th mixture.
- Strain the chutney and keep to cool. Tamarind Chutney is ready.
- Let's prepare Green Chutney. Blend all the ingredients mentioned under "For Green Chutney" to a thick chutney like consistency. Adjust water accordingly. Green Chutney is ready.
- Now let's prepare Papdis. To the flour, add salt, ajwain and mix well. Gradually add water and knead to a soft dough. Cover and keep for 30 minutes.
- Take out a small portion from the dough and roll flat to a 1/2 inch wrap, cut out papdis using a cookie cutter.
- Heat oil and deep fry on low flame, until crisp and golden color. Papdis are ready.
- Now let us see the assembling part. In a plate, arrange papdis, spread some onion, boiled potato, enough curd. Pour some chutneys, sprinkle red chilli powder, cumin powder and chaat masala.
- Sprinkle a good amount of sev on top and little freshly chopped coriander leaves. Dahi Papdi Chaat is ready to serve.
