Ingredients

  • Prawns - 1/2 kg

FOR MARINATION:-

  • Ginger Garlic Green Chilli Paste - 2 tbsp
  • Kashmiri Chilli Powder - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt
  • Lemon Juice - 3 tbsp
  • Oil - 4 tbsp

FOR MASALA:-

  • Onion - 3 (big, sliced)
  • Ginger Garlic Green Chilli Paste - 2 tbsp
  • Tomato - 2 (big, sliced)
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Mint Leaves
  • Kashmiri Chilli Powder - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
  • Pepper Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Curd - 1/2 cup (whisked)
  • Lemon Juice - 3 tbsp
  • Oil
  • Ghee
  • Salt

FOR RICE:-

  • Basmati Rice - 5 cup
  • Ghee - 3 tbsp
  • Salt
  • Hot Water

Instructions

  1. Marinate the prawns with the ingredients mentioned under "For Marination" and keep for 1 to 2 hours. Shallow fy the prawns and keep aside.
  2. In the same oil, add 2 tbsp of ghee, ginger garlic green chilli paste, onion and cook till soft, cooked and mushy. Add tomatoes and cook till mushy.
  3. Add spice powders, salt and mix well till raw smell fades. Add curd, herb leaves and mix well. Add lemon juice and mix further. Add fried prawns and mix well. Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Pour hot water (enough to cook rice) and bring to a boil. Add salt and mix well. Add some more ghee, mix again.
  5. Add the drained rice and mix well. Bring to a boil on a high flame. Lower the flame, cover and cook till rice is cooked thoroughly. Serve hot with raita and salad.
